Any seasons in for anyone? Think Georgia started their bow opener, but, I could be mistaken. We still have to wait til October here. sad.gif Can't wait for some venison (lol...all mine ruined when Katrina brought "lights out".)...especially cause I'm planning on trying out WyoJoe's Summer Sausage recipe with some..lol. wub.gif

And hey...for the ones who have to draw tags? did ya get what you were putting out for? (Sure hope so!! wink.gif )

Bow season comes in here in VA on Oct. 1st. Soooo, I got two weeks yet to wait before I start my rookie season with my Crossbow. biggrin.gif

I'll be hunting at my Horse Farmer's the first 2 weekends. I conversed with the Bawana the other day and we're probably gunna team up and go to Hunting Camp to bow hunt hopefully a weekend or two in Oct. / Nov.

Rifle starts here Nov. 19th and the Bawana is off the entire 1st week this year. So I'll at least have someone to do my "serious" dragging for me !! rolleyes.gif laugh.gif

In the mean time, I'm hunting for some pics that were supposed to be showing up by either e-mail or PM !! ... lmao biggrin.gif rolleyes.gif laugh.gif

Right now you can hunt for coyotes, chucks, and dove.

In mid October we have a black powder season for anterless deer and also the furbearing season starts. Hope to use some leave from work that week. I have to guide a coyote hunt the first Saturday of the black powder season and then the 2nd Saturday or the last day I have a family wedding to attend.

Now starting on the 28th of October I am going to retire from Uncle Sam. 37.7 years working for the Navy as a civilian. Thats when the real hunting is going to start happening. I will have just turned 57 years old days (1 Oct) before and I will be able to still climb them mountains. Now I do not know about dragging a buck out 5 miles by myself like the old day. Maybe only 3 miles. LOL LOL

I got drawn for a mule deer tag in colorado and going to buy a bull elk tag when I get there. The season opens oct. 22 thur oct. 30 I'll be there for 12 days, but I'll get back to texas in time to catch opening weekend of rifle season. I'm going to hunt in far east texas this year. There not as many deer but its alot cheeper than south texas witch I've hunted for the past 11 yrs.

Wildboar I will be hunting East Texas and the Millwood Lake and Fouke area of Arkansa in the year 2006. Does East Texas have some hot spots for coyotes or wildboar? I know of a rancher that lives in Clarksville Texas. Is that a good area to hunt coyotes?
WildBoar
Uncle Buck I live inbetween Sherman and Paris about a hour and a half from clarkville. I've hunted there before we had great luck on bobcats they are everwhere ,my buddy and I killed 7 bobcats and 3 coyotes in one night. And yes it is a great place to call in coyotes. But you might want to bring a shot gun some places the brush is pretty thick. Hogs are hit and miss a lot of cover to hide in.

Nothing here yet hands.Doves and geese are in but I don't hunt them anymore.
Right now I'm scouting for archery which opens OCT 1.

Very cool hemmy. biggrin.gif

I received three anterless deer license in my state. Each for a different area of the state. I do not want to harvest three anterless deer. Just want to make sure if I hunt I have a great time hunting Bear, Buck, and anterless all at the same time.
