Are snakes a problem where you are, as far as hunting or fishing goes ?... Have you ever gotten bit ? ....... During the spring and fall hunting seasons here they are certainly a consideration....and of course they are sure enough something to watch for when fishing or running the woods during the spring, summer, and fall... They don't really "go in" here till the weather gets cold... I have almost stepped on moccasins a couple of times in December, while running my traplines around bodies of water, when the weather has been particularly warm.... I have never been bit, but had a friend get bit once while we were fishing.

I've stepped "over" mossacins, not knowing, but have not been bit. Hope I never am!
They never were really a problem, but this year they are everywhere. The small creeks are drying up and they are looking for water. I've resorted to putting moth balls out (cause, heard it helps) around the swimming pool cause they're (moccasins) always around it now.
We've killed a lot of rattlers out here this year too. It's gonna be real warm, I'd bet, around bow opener, so, it'll definitely be something to look out for this year.
