Hands,
Since you started this live web cam buisiness ... I'd like to suggest that you create a new post and cut and paste all of the existing ones in this thread into it, as well as solicit that other folks post any additional web cams; just hunting & fishing related ... since this is still somewhat a family site. lol
Then you could pin that new thread so everyone could have one place to add an view any and all hunting & fishing web cams all in one nice tidy place.
thanks !!

Yeah..... just send that other live cam trash to my email address, and I'll properly dispose of it.
But seriously.... 99er... I think that is a very good idea... Then we could find all of them in one place... It seems that sometime back other cam live feeds like that have been posted, but I would not know where to find them now.

About 9:30, my time... the camera started to move... I thought ,"What the heck?!" ... I didn't know that it scanned...but it moved to the left, and there were probably 50 or more impala... First animals I have seen while watching the waterhole, besides birds.
....... Whoa....a buffalo showed up! ... Yeah, thanks for posting this Hands... My wife likes watching it too... But I sure didn't know that the camera would scan and pan till just now.

I think that may be a bit far from the river for crocs...... My wife was watching last nite (day time over there), and saw zebra, a herd of buffalo, and some people drive by in a jeep................ My wife...and our daughter over at her house, often "talk" on the computer at night, and while doing so they have gotten to where they watch the African Live Cam...LOL... They both think it's just pretty neat, and keep their eyes on it quite a bit... My wife said that when the camera scans to the left, and then pans in for a super close up, there is a house way back there, and about 6:45 their time, there were people out walking around it.

Just wondering if anyone else ever watches these cameras.... My wife watches on a regular baisis, and calls me in whenever she sees something "new"...LOL.... So far, besides the animals I mentioned already, we have seen baboons, wilderbeast, and some tiny "deer" that we can't identify... Last nite she called me in to see some jackels.

Well, my wife is generally on the computer in the evenings, and as she plays games she keeps the Africam where she can watch it........... The other day the camera zoomed in for an extreme close up of "the house", and then panned the area. I mean like looking from about 100 yards away...and Wow!....... There are at least 6 or 8 buildings, maybe more that you can't see for all the trees, and I saw 4 or 5 vehicles... But in the front yard were wilderbeast, and impalas... I'm beginning to think that this all may be on some sort of wildlife park...
Then last nite my wife called me in here....and the camera was kind of "jerking", and you could hear a monkey "eee, eee, hoo, hooing"... He was obviously "playing" with it....LOL... She said that the other evening she had seen a huge snake just out from the water hole.
Hands
Mar 17 2007, 01:49 PM
it very well could be a park of some sort.
LMAO @ the monkey!! That had to be funny as all get out! I might cut it on later this evening and see what I can see.

Finally saw an elephant there last night...or actually night here...day there...and a couple of hyenas the other day... My wife sets and watches the live-cam quite alot in the evenings, and she called me in to see them.

My wife saw 6 giraffes (sp?) last nite...but then, like I say, she always has the "Africam" going when she is on the computer....and also some "deer-like" animals that she said were called "topi", when she looked them up.

I have trouble with it on my puter. It jsut doesnt want to load most every time I go to it. But, my connection is REALLY slow at night, so banking on that being the problem. It would own to see giraffes....they're my fave!

I had to move my computer desck into thekitchen to open up the spare room to be used as a bedroom again. My wife and I spend most of our time at the table here in the kitchen and my wife turns on the computer so she can watch for critters on the African webcam. She's trying to take over my computer.

LOL..... Jamie, the computer is mine early in the AM, before my wife gets up, or is getting around... But, in the evenings or at night, the computer belongs to her... And it doesn't really matter what she is doing, she watches the Arican webcam along with it..... But then she also has a site where she can identify the various birds and animals she sees, and she keeps a list here of what she sees.......... Looking at her list, she has so far seen 19 different kinds of animals she could identify, 6 birds she could identify, and a couple of snakes....not to mention several people, vehicles, and buildings.

That African website is cool. However, it has really caught on and a lot of people are watching it. So much so, that a few company's ISP are blocking it, so you can't check it out at work!

I believe the camera is mounted in a tree, and is motion sensetive and activated... I know one time my wife hollered at me to come look and the camera was kinda "jerking", and then it would go black like the lens was covered...finally figured out that a monkey had "discovered it", and was fooling with it. Then it was "down" for a short time once, and turned out some people were working on it.......... Occasionally you can see vehicles go by, and I have often wondered if maybe this was a wild-life park that offered "tours"... Sometimes it focus' on the far hill and there is what looks like a village there...or at least a bunch of buildings and vehicles, and sometimes you see people there.

That's what I think too, Mongo...
I've watched that African webcam a bunch of times. It does appear to be a big game preserve or something. When they angle the game cam a certain way, you can see a big building in the distance - almost looks like a big game/hunting resort kind of place. I've seen people way off in the distance walking out on what looks to be a big outdoor deck, along with Land Rovers and other vehicles driving around.
But still, it is an awesome website and really neat to watch different animals in the native habitat.
