My worst problem as far as getting attacked have been by Farmer's crazy-arsed Cattle while Varmit hunting. I'm betting Hemmy's pick will be sheep !! lmao rofl.gif laugh.gif

I've had a few does pretty upset when I was useing a fawn in distress call, but Ive never had one attack.
I've never had a wild animal attack, Now the horse flys in the summer get real agresive but that about as bad as it gets around here.

Not counting a few aggressive animals (particularly dogs) that I had caught in traps, or coyotes that about ran me over when calling... Only feral dogs, a time or two, have actually ever been aggressive to the point that I was seriously concerned, and they didn't actually "attack" me.............................. So the only time I was actually physically attacked, was by that pack of feral VICTORIA SECRET models that attacked me after I used that TAG BODY SPRAY.

OkieHunter
Had a bobcat jump me when I was turkey hunting a few years ago.
Hands
Oh man, that had to be scary. Did you get hurt by it?
Irving
I have been worried about a possible attack by monkees, but so far, so good.
Sodak Jim
I was attacked by a huge swarm of black flies while hunting caribou in Alaska. That was the closest thing to pure panic that I can remember. It took 2 big cans of insect repellant to even slow them down.

Fortunately I was not hurt because I think the bobcat was as startled as I was at the time, all I got was a couple of scratches and a good story to tell.

The thing that scared me the most was one year while bowhunting I was still hunting and came face to face with a pack of wild dogs that had just killed a deer. There was not a tree close enough to get in and for awhile it was touch and go. I shot the dog that seamed to be the leader and the rest left but after that I pack my 1911 in my back pack evertime I hunted that area.

And things like that are just another reason that I never go out into the woods without carrying a gun of some kind...even when just fishing............. A friend of mine that I used to work with had an experience very similar to the one you describe... He was deer hunting on his own property, and crossing an open area, when he first noticed the dog pack. When they noticed him they came his way. As they approached closer, they began snarling and acting aggressive. He said the appearent leader looked like a Rotweiler mix, and was wearing a collar... However he was carrying a .270, and the first shot he put into the ground directly in front of the leader. He said they slowly backed off then, and then left... But the next shot was going to take out the big Rot... He also deer hunts with a bow...and he said that after that encounter, even when bow hunting or cutting fire wood, he carrys a .357 Mag revolver.

Dang, you guys!! Okie, that's good that the cat didn't "get ya", and you're right about the cool story. The dog pack...that's something scary. That's the only thing in my own woods to actually consider (feral dogs and yotes in packs) "threatening", and I've always been a little nervous about coming into a pack of them. Alone, they're "yeller"...lol...but, in a group, they gain cajones. Anyhow, cool story!

Sodak Jim..that's scary too. I hate bugs...and would even more so if they were in swarms, especially the way they get them up there. Plus, they drink blood, don't they? I would be panicked, too!
