It seems like it's never ending for me. I always lose something in the woods. If it's not a knife, it's a shooting stick, or bullets. I was shrooming with my wife one day and she my cell phone fall off my belt. Had she not been with me I would have lost that. The other day I was Morel hunting and I got back to the vehicle. I started laughting to myself. Dang if I did not loose my pepper spray and pepper spray holder. I laughed because I know the spray shelf life was already past the 9 years date. So do not feel bad when you loose a knife, shooting stick, or such. Thats hunting for you. However pray to god you never loose your GPS, Cell Phone, Digital Cameras and or hand gun off your hip or your car keys. I make sure this stuff is real secure now. Cell Phone, Gps, and sometimes the hand gun is carried in a shoulder bag that never leaves my body. The flap is also secured so nothing will fall out. The critical items are also zipped inside the pouch that is inside of the shoulder sack.
PS I have also found some outstanding gear in the woods to that have been lost by some pour soul! I have to be just like a pack rat and make my contributions for others to find too.

I don't recall ever looseing anything of any real import in the woods...a glove here, a couple rounds of .22-250 ammo there, (a few dozen traps stolen over the years), etc... But I know of people looseing some stuff that had them back doing some serious hunting... I know one fella that lost a .357 Magnum revolver once. I don't believe he ever found it.... I also know a fella that found an over/under shotgun once, another who found a case containing an in-line muzzle loader with a scope, bullets, powder, caps, and the accessories one time.... I have found a semi-auto .22LR pistol, and a couple of pairs of binoculars, and a few knives, myself.... And my son in law found an old single shot .22LR rifle once in an old country dump along a dry creek bed.

Same here..I haven't lost anything of too much importance. Lost knives and stuff. Lost my own self once...lol..but I would really flip out if I lost something I paid a lot for, like a camera!

I lost my cellphone in the bottom of a ditch where i was working on a busted waterline. The phone stayed under water for 24 hours. I put it on the dashboard heater and dried it out. It worked, Two weeks later it was washed in my pants pocket. Laid it on the heat vent and dried it out again. I am still useing it now almost a year later.
I have lost many things in the woods. Found most and found some that belonged to others.

I just read an article in Fur Fish & Game about to Pa Game Wardens that were working out in the field. One warden cell phone fell down a woodchuck hole. It was not at the entrance either. The other warden called the number and it was ringing underground. I dio not think they got the phone. Wow you never know what is down a hole if you stuck you hand way down there to retreive it.

LOLOLOL.... I NEVER stick my bare hand down an unknown hole in the woods, whether it's in the ground, in a tree, under a rock or log, or under water... I have this terrible fear of getting bit, stung, or looseing a digit.

LMAO Can you imagine what would happen to your hand if your put it down inside of a hole or wood pile hole and there would be a weasel inside it. Talk about a tough little critter. Ounce for ounce one of the toughest, meanest, critters in this here U. S. A.
I shot a weasel with a 22 rifle one time. It was chasing a cottontail down the railroad tracks. When the rabbit reached me the weasel did not quit chasing the cottontail. He just kept running after the cottontail. I figure the cottontail needed a little help so I shot the weasel. I have seen them stick their heads out of wood piles and just look at you. No fear of man what so ever.
