I'm curious as to what the size (manpower) and budget of the Game & Fish Commisions of the various states, So what is the size & budget of yours ???

Here in Virginia it's ...
VDGIF is responsible for the management of inland fisheries, wildlife, and recreational boating for the Commonwealth of Virginia. The Department has an operational budget of approximately $49.5 million and a maximum employment level of 493 salaried staff.

I don't know the size or budget but our Department of Fish and Game (DFG) in California but it is grossly undermanned and underbudgeted.. The pay scale for DFG game wardens is very low as compared to other law enforcement options. In addition the DFG management under the bleeding heart Governors we had became a front for the lunatic fringe environmentalists. They are only interested in curtailing fishing and hunting in the name of studies funded by the bleeding heart liberals. Based on their extreme left leaning politics, it's probably a good thing they are so grossly underfunded.

I couldn't find anythig too updated, but in 2003, it was $32 million and 325 employees. I heard there was a dip in both funding and staff, but don't know if this is before or after I heard that.

The latest I could find for the budget was for 2006, and it was $34,427,000.00..... As for number of employees...I couldn't find anything.
