For you people that hunt/call coyotes, what is your primary rifle, and the chambering ? ... If you are like many coyote callers you will probably have more than one rifle dedicated to this sport... But if you could only pick one of them...which would it be, and why ? ..... For me, my pick would be a rifle I have built on a Model 700 action, in .22-250 Ackley Imporved... With my handloads it has all the "thump" I need for the biggest dog, and the ability to "reach out" as far as I need to be shooting...and just a bit more...and it's so accurate I can't help but grin every time I stroke that reworked trigger........ What is your first pick, and why ? ... Keeping in mind, of course, that the majority of my hunting was for the fur market so I wanted to leave some dignity to the corpse......................... (Also, I am just learning to post pictures, and thought this might be a good oppertunity.)

Currently I use a Rem XR-100 in 204 Ruger. Once I get the bugs worked out of my Rem 700 SPS Varmint in 17 Fireball I will see how it works and start using it if I like the results.

When I do the calling with a mouth call I like to use a 17 Rem Center Fire. Many times I do the calling and don't even get to see the incoming coyote. All I hear is the shot of the shooter who intercepts the coyote on it's way in to my calling. Hence my reason for using the rifle. I just might be able to get a shot off if the coyote comes in from anothe direction.
However when hunting with an electronic caller in heavy stuff I like to use # 4 buckshot in a Ithaca Model 37 full choke or Browning BPS pump choked improved modified.

I know what you mean UB... Fact is, I probably used an old Model 870 EXPRESS 12 gag. with WINCHESTER's 3 inch, copper coated lead BBs and an extra-full turkey choke, as much or more than all of my predator rifles put together, for calling.
