When there is a heavy snow fall, or really bad weather, the coons may "den-up" for a few days to wait it out... Some people believe that, like a bear, they will hibernate... But, coons don't hibernate... They will seldom stay holed-up more than a few days...then they will be out searching for food... If you have coon sets out, just leave them... As soon as the weather starts to clear, they will be back out again... However, you may find that they begin to spend more time in the upland country and less along the creeks and low lands at this time of the season.
