Most ranchers and farmers that I know have at least one "bone yard" or carcass dump located somewhere on their property. Many of them have several. I'm talking about places where they dump animals that have died or they have had to put down for whatever reason... You can bet that every coyote in the area knows the location of these carcass dumps and visits them regularly.... These, and the trails leading to them are excellent places to make coyote sets, and often, especially after some fresh dumpings, they are good places to set up close to and call over.... Any serious trapper should be aware of every carcass dump along their line. They can be major fur producers.

That's a really good observation/tip, and so very true! Back when we were "farmers" and had tons of critters, we had a place where we'd put the deceased cows or goats or whatever (that were too old and tough to eat) and it was like a haven for the yotes and others like coons, possums, buzzards, etc. Swarming all over, they do seem to remember those hotspots.

my hunting buddies and I always process our own deer , then we take the hides, bones and other left overs in the feild out behind my house. we make a pile there and call it the yote pile. I've taken a few yotes over the years at night when they were on it.
