I recently received a howler that was made by a Pennsylvanian that knows coyotes. His call is called the The Dog Talker". It does just that it can do all kind of canine talk.

I also like the Magnum Crit-R-Call open reed as a howler.

I have so many type howlers but the above to mentioned seem to have the best sound. I have the Primos Hot Dog, Red Desert Howler, Sceercy Howler, Johnny Stewart, The Kirk,

Soon the person that makes "The Dog Talker" will be releasing an video DVD a how to call in Eastern coyotes. You Pennsylvanina hunters or Eastern seaboard coyote hunters might want to get your hands on this video.

Here is the website of the person who sales the The Dog Talker and the one who will be coming out with the how to video.

I too have a few howlers among my collection... But the one that saw the most usage (probably more than all the others combined), and the one that was always in my pocket whenever I was predator calling, was the first howler I ever owned, and the first howler I ever called a coyote in with, and the first call, of any kind, that I called in a pack of coyotes with...is an original BILL AUSTIN "CALL OF THE COYOTE"....... Perhaps it is simply that I used it so often, is the reason it has more coyotes to it's credit than the others I have, or maybe it's just that I have faith in it doing what it was made to do... I have calls that are fancier, more elaborate, much prettier, and cost more money than this simple looking piece of plastic tube with a flat plastic reed held on with a castration band... I don't know... All I do know is that it works.
