I honestly don't recall if this topic has been posted befor or not (the old memory isn't what it once was)... But, what one animal is your favorite to hunt, and why ? .......... For me it would be the coyote. I just feel more of a "thrill", or "rush", if you will, when I see a coyote comeing in to the call, than when hunting any other animal...and a pack can really get the blood to pumping and the hair on the back of your neck to standing... Now, you can't eat them (or I guess you could, but I wouldn't) but a good furred coyote can sure cause the fur buyer to go to dragging out his wallet.............. But what about you ? What one animal do you most like to hunt...and why ?

Fox for sure. Nothing like being one on one with an animal and predators offer that to the hunter. Also in good years (like last year) one can could get $45.00 for a prime grey fox. redds they were going only for $20.00. Lets see get about 4 greys and you can get yourself a nice 410 pump. You know how youth is wasted on the young? I remember back in 70's fox were up there at $50-$75.00 each. Now a young family sure could of use the egg money if you know what I mean. However I just did not have the foresight back thene as I do now.
Should you new hunters know where there is some pockets of grey fox you just might want to take up this sport called Predator HUnting?

I realy like hunting bears but my favorite has got to be elk out here in the rainforest, I love everything about it exept the work after a kill. Theres something about trying to stay calm and think about how your going to get close to 30 sets of eyes, ears, and noses without beeing detected so that you can get a shot at a bull. So many things can and usealy do go wrong that when you do get that bull your left feeling that you realy acomplished something. Theres alot to successfuly hunting these Roosevelt elk out here. BTW I read in the WA state regs. that the Avg. for getting a bull is 1 bull every 15 years. I know that Avg. takes into account every guy that buys a tag but it still seems pretty bad.

Hey Jamie,
I used to hunt the Blue Mountains for elk and mule deer years ago. The roads can get real bad in there in a hurry. Myself and two brothers averaged around a bull every other year. The few cow tags were easy to fill anytime you were lucky enough to draw one. We were usually hunting in the Tucannon River drainage. It got too crowded up on the Pinkam Trail and the Smoothing Iron for us. It felt like the whole town of Ellensburg was camped out there.
I had way more fun hunting caribou and moose in Alaska. Imagine sitting in on one river crossing and watching 5000 Caribou walk by and then shooting the best two. We flew my brother's super cub in the night before and set up camp. I went outside of camp and shot 6 willow tarmigan for roasting on the campfire. We stayed up most of the night drinking whiskey and trying to keep warm. It warmed up to about 50 the next day for the hunt. That was my favorite hunt.

I'v come to the realization that I don't really have a real favorite Game to hunt anymore. I just enjoy getting and being outdoors regardless of the Game I'm persuing or the particular time of year !!
I was Deer hunting today, and didn't see diddley in the way of Deer, but I enjoyed the hell out of myself ... even watching all of the noisey-assed squirells running about; I my earlier years, the squirells and all of their racket would have pissed me off. I was more totally relaxed and at ease today than I think I'v ever been in a long time hunting ... the funny thing is I didn't even fall asleep.

I don't hunt very many species. I suppose squirrel would be my most favorite. I like to hunt them becauseit's a little more challenging sometimes to get a good shot (smaller target) and they seem smarter than our deer. Deer would be second, at a close second. I get excited every time I make a shot with them.

Deer for me. I love being in the woods this time of year with the color and all. I enjoy squirrel as well. I used to turkey hunt a lot but spring trout have kept me away for several years now.
