I hunt the wind since predator most times will come into the wind. I use to hate when the wind was up to 15 MPH. Figure the critters would not hear your call as easy. However this is what I found out.
If there is no wind or minimal wind you never know which way the wind is blowing too and from and you get busted by fox and coyotes.
at 8 MPH they will come into the wind but you will get busted because they, critters and deer even will smell you.
Now at 15 MPH or better by the time your scent reaches them it will be distributed all around so they can not smell you. That is why a little more wind is better then just a light wind. I compensate for the heavier wind by using predator sounds and mouth calls that are louder then normal. Such as using a Jack Rabbit eelctroinc sound instead of a baby cottontail sound. Or a mouth call that is louder then others. Also make your stands closer together too. you can make three stands on a farm during windy conditons. If the wind is minimal you can only make one stand and have to move on to another farm down the road.
