I just read that. I wonder who the tree huggers will blame it on. I'm glad the child escaped with minimal injury.

Just heard on Fox News Network. Another coyote had a little girl around the head and neck. The mom saved her life but remember everything happens first In California so down the road it could start happening in your city.

I've seen a couple in town. They sure have thinned down the feral cat population.

I have seen coyotes several times in our small town, and fox, skunk, deer, possum, and armidillo, are seen frequently...and the coons come almost nightly to our porch to eat the food the wife puts out for the cats... Early one morning, 3 or 4 years ago, just as the sun was coming up, I saw a large bobcat in the street not 30 feet from our back door..... But then we live only about 200 yards from one major creek, and about 500 yards from another, and I know alot of animals run those creeks...... There are always lot of "wild" housecats in this neighborhood, and a new batch each spring, but they seem to be around for awhile, then disappear... But I attribute most of that to the big owls that you hear down along the creek, and sometimes see in the large trees out back at night.

I saw in my paper today that since 1970, 100 kids have been attacked by coyotes in the U. S. The age of the kids ran from 10 Years old down. Now 100 is a small number for a 38 year period. However just think if the next child, number 101 is your grandchild or child? Coyotes after they kill will eat the internal organs first, then the buttocks. They usually don't eat the rest of the prey.

Heard a women called Crowwomen give a talk about coyotes. What stuck in my mind is when she described on how a cat she found that no longer had entrails and the back end had a look of horror on it face when she found it. You know it was kind of frozen with a pain look right at the time of death.

I use to joke around with coworkers and other fellow predator hunters. I said "if you pass out in the woods don't fall face down." "The coyotes will chew the meat off your butt!" Anyway when you walk in the woods and you see what I described odds are it was done by a coyote.
