I visited my club and shot in the Wolf 209 with the scope. Wow what a nice little gun. The shots grouped right off for me. No flyers what so ever. I walked the shots in until they were 1 inch high.
There was only one negative thing today when I was shooting. As I drove up the 100 yard range was closed.
They were working on the 100 yard range. Actually using heavy equipment to move earth to make it safer in the back.
The 25 and the 50 yard range was open. Since I am going to hunt deer in the deep woods tomarrow I figure well I will just shoot the Wolf 209 in at 50 yards and sight it in at 1 inch high.
After each shot I removed the plug and cleaned it on the spot. When I was done I cleaned it too so now I just have this good feeling of knowing that I should be able to drop one over 50 yards. Probably at 100 yards to. I would shoot for the middle of the chest or the middle of the lungs if I got a side shot.
I am using 2 Triple Seven 50 Grain pellets (100 grains) and T/C 230 grain bullets. I am so excited about how well this inline shot that I can't wait to get a T/C Prohunter in the 50 Cal configuration. I could have purchased a barrel for my other Encore actions but I want at least a Pro Hunter.
The scope on the CVA Wolf 209 is a Red Head 3 X 9 40 MM with Gorilla Grip mounts. Thing was just laying around here. I removed it from another rifle when I purchased a Muller illuminated red dot scope for the other gun.
Anyway should you ever desire to buy an inline you sure get your money worth out of a CVA Wolf 209.
Why maybe I will even take it out during the regular gun season this year if I hunt a woodlot or such?
Also i would not hesitate to shoot at a running deer with it too. Last year I let 3 running anterless deer go because I was using iron sight on the Wolf 209. I did not want to hit one in the pauch.
