Full Version: Ought to be a Law

There ought to be a law providing for the hunting and taking of a wild turkey on Thanksgiving morning. Some States have Fall Turkey Season, but Georgia does not. But a one day or half day turkey hunt on Thanksgiving morning would be cool. Whadya think? biggrin.gif

Sounds good to me, but around here Thanksgiving day is one of the biggest days of the deer season. Might be a good deal for some of those people to be able to carry a tag for both a deer and a turkey that day....keeping in mind that hunting turkey with a rifle is legal in the fall season anyway here.
Hands
I think it would be nice....cause I shore love wild turkey..it's the only kind I'll eat. So, we have to shoot a couple turkeys during regular season...(don't have a fall season in my area and it's too too far away) and freeze it until Thanksgiving and X-mas too.sad.gif
But, like Mongo said...it's one of the biggest deer hunting days here too.. but, if it was allowed...I know which my appetite would be making me do. wink.gif biggrin.gif

Well, I'm proud to say that in Virginia it's still legal to shoot a Turkey on Thanksgiving Day !! wink.gif

Unfortunately, I'll be in another state that doesn't !! I think it still legal there to listen to Alice's Resturant on the radio though !! ohmy.gif laugh.gif

Well if you are going to Alice's Resturant on Thanksgiving you won't need to shoot a turkey. Just get it there... Cause I heard that ..... You can get anything that you want, at Alice's Resturant......includeing Alice........................ Thank you Arlo.
Hands
Odd enough, last year, on Thanksgiving Day, as me and my Dad were driving to "the family gathering hole" when we left the house..it came on..and when we got to the aunt's house ...some 30+ minutes away....it was STILL on.
It's a cool song.......
Mongojoe
Yes, Hands, it was...... but it was a "cool" time in our nation's history also back then..... Alot of things going on....By the way, there was also a movie by that same name, starring Arlo Guthrie, if I recall correctly.

I saw the movie. Well, at least what I could remember of it !! ... lol wink.gif biggrin.gif

I do vividly remember seeing Easy Rider; saw it on a Sunday night. Monday had some sort of major English exam in High School, came within a "nat's eyelash" of aceing that succa. Course I went from "D" in 10-grade English to almost an "A" in Senior English. It had absolutely nuthing to do with my 11-grade teacher, who had a passion for wearing the shortist mini-skits that were allowed in School !! laugh.gif biggrin.gif

Frigging Senior teacher gave me a "99" on my Senior term-paper; he had the gaul to tell me that the only reason I didn't get a 100%, was because nobody's perfect !! At least I finally "whooped" my sister's butt on the term-paper (He was nice enough to tell me her score) ... it's mighty rough when you have to follow a validvictorian all the way thru High School !! Hell, I just wanted to party !! ... lmao rolleyes.gif tongue.gif

LOL...well 99er....so you got a 99.....What did you expect to get?..... LOL. ...I too vividly remember the first time I saw "Easy Rider"...at an underground theater in Atlanta back in early 1970..... Excellent movie, and sound track, and still a bit of a cult favorite. I've wanted to go to the Mardi Gras ever since....LOL... But Hands there was alot of very good music back then.... In my own humble opinion, rock music started going stagnate in the late 70's, and has not improved since.

Mongo,

I'll agree with ya on that !! Cept, every once in a "blue moon" there comes along a song that will "catch my fantsy" ... "Weed with Willy", by Toby Keith somehow just popped into my mind !! ... lmao wink.gif laugh.gif biggrin.gif
